<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/_a9PJrNA8Dw” title=”YouTube video player” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen></iframe> hey this is Jophiel with Sky Point Studios and today I want to talk to you about having junk in your WordPress installation so for me it’s really important to have a really clean WordPress and what I mean by that is we don’t want to have any extra themes or any extra plugins that we’re not using or we don’t know what they are we don’t know what they’re doing so for me I just want just the WordPress theme that i have installed as the main one and whatever the additional theme for the year is so every year WordPress comes out with a different theme like there’s 2022 out right now when 2022 comes out you want to go and delete 2021 so you just have the one that you have installed and you have the backup we always want to have a backup theme in case things go wrong you need to switch over to that so i just have two themes in place the one that’s the main one and then the one backup which is my yearly theme 2022 and that’s it any extra themes you need to delete those those are just taking up space they’re also attack vectors hackers can get in through those so we don’t want those the other thing is go through your plugins and make sure you understand and know what every single plugin does if there’s any plugins you don’t recognize or don’t know what they’re doing or they’re not doing anything remove those you don’t need those if there’s any that are deactivated and they’re just sitting there not activated delete those if you need to go back and get it for whatever reason it’ll be there waiting for you you can always go back to the store reinstall it or re-upload the plug-in you don’t need it sitting there deactivated because it does not if it’s deactivated it’s not doing anything but it’s still an attack vector that hackers can get in so the whole point is to keep it as secure as possible with the least resource as possible so it runs as fast as possible that’s what we want out of our WordPress so this is Jophiel with SkyPoint Studios follow along for more tips like this one
