Facebook Group Marketing
Facebook Group Marketing
Facebook group marketing is a technique that creates leads and SEO value from specific groups around a location or subject matter.
So how does Facebook group marketing work?
I’m a part of several Facebook groups that revolve around customer feedback in certain locations that we have business in, such as Billings, Montana and Las Vegas, Nevada. These groups will have post recommendations for local businesses that the poster is looking for.
For example, today in one of the Billings customer feedback groups a person was looking for a landscaper who could plant some flower gardens. We have a client Billings landscaping who does a great job and we do their website for them and what I did was post there name as a tag and their phone number & website.
This recommendation may be used by the person who is looking for the business and that would be fantastic. That would create business for our client and make them happy. However, besides the opportunity to gain the business, the other benefit is that the website gains SEO value.
How does SEO value come from posts on a Facebook group?
SEO value is based on a lot of different factors but one of the factors is website traffic. Because these groups have a lot of members, some around 40,000, there’s a good chance that several members will click on the link to check out the website.
When they do that Google is aware of the traffic that’s going to the website and will rate the website higher because it is more popular.
The way to do Facebook group marketing is to work with other business owners who can recommend your business when a request comes up on the page and you do the same for them. Make sure that your referral partners are aware that they need to post both the phone number and website address.
If the name of the business is the only thing dropped, they’re won’t be any SEO value passed. It will be harder for the original poster to find the business as well. Of course maybe the person who read the post would Google the business and find it that way, but if we can make it much easier for them by providing the phone number and the website, it would be best.
Have you had any luck with garnering business off of a Facebook group?
